Looking to plan the perfect golf trip to Great Indiana Golf Packages? Planning a buddies trip or a romantic golf getaway can be a full time job not to mention pressure filled to deliver a memorable experience. Below is an interview with Kimberly Hays, Golf Coordinator who shares some insider information about golfing and traveling to Great Indiana Golf Packages, must play courses, a sample itinerary and where you can go for more planning tools.
Give our readers an overview of your destination and why they should consider it for their next golf trip? Great Indiana Golf Packages has been providing high quality, affordable golf travel packages for 12 years. We offer some of the finest golf facilities in the state of Indiana and are conveniently located in Northeast Indiana near I-80/90 (Indiana Toll Road) and just off I-69. The quality of our 7 golf courses in conjunction with the locally owned, warm and friendly Best Western Inn assures a high quality experience for all of our visitors.
What are the must play courses in Great Indiana Golf Packages? Each of our 7 golf facilities is a "must play". Each has been carefully selected for it's high standards of layout, maintenance, facilities, and customer service.
Partner courses include Cobblestone, Noble Hawk, Bridgewater, Glendarin Hills, Island Hills, Cherry Hill, and Autumn Ridge. Wow! What a line-up. Noble Hawk & Cobblestone are the core of the package and are each located within 10 minutes of the lodge.
What is the hidden gem and/or best value course? Both Noble Hawk Golf Links and Cobblestone Golf Club are located near the lodging facility and are of the highest quality. These courses have each been recognized by Golf Digest Magazine and offer different golf experiences.
Cobblestone is a traditional "parkland" course with beautiful landscapes, wide tree-lined fairways, and flat greens. In contrast, Noble Hawk has 13 Scottish Links style holes with dramatic contours, sand, and water along with 5 tree-lined holes that might make you think you are "up north".
Can you provide our readers with an ideal itinerary for a long weekend? Experience tells us that most of our visitors come from north (Michigan & Canada), east ( Ohio), and west (Chicago). The ideal trip for such a group would include Cobblestone & Noble Hawk with a visit to either Island Hills or Glendarin Hills on the way to the lodge or on the way home.
After golf, what are the "must do" things or attractions to see? Northeast Indiana offers a variety of attractions ranging from big city activities/night life in Fort Wayne to the world famous Shipshewana Flea Market & Auction just 40 minutes away.
In addition, there is a wide variety of eating establishments including national chains, fast food, local landmark eateries, and quaint lakeside bistros & pubs.
What is the best time to travel? The golf season in NE Indiana typically begins in late March and extends to the end of October. Because of our climate and clientele, we have found that the most popular time to visit is spring and fall. This corresponds to our Spring and Fall Golf Package Specials which are both great values.
For the first time in 2013 Great Indiana Golf is offering our lowest priced packages in July and October which are typically the slowest months for golf package visitors.
